Block Heads 2 - Block 38
Block Heads 2 - Block 38
Happy 2019! You're rested, recharged and ready to go, right? With tiny piecing. Lisa Bongean.
That's not this week's block - those HTSs would be itty bitty because Lisa's block finishes at 12". This week's block is Anchor Point.
Don't worry! It's a 12" finished block. With a 3" finished star in the center.
Michele's block - the fabrics are from Jo Morton's Gratitude collection.
Stars and Lisa go together well, don't they?
This is Lisa's "coming in January" Star & Stripe Gatherings. A book by the same name is on the way, it's filled with great quilts, table runners, pillows, pincushions, wool mats and a few other things that I can't remember.
This quilt is Independence Day - it's in the Star & Stripe Gatherings book.
I love this star pillow, and the stitched pillow on the bottom shelf. And the one on the middle shelf, and the pincushions. The stitched pillow can also be framed, as shown in the picture above. (These pictures are from Lisa's booth at Fall Quilt Market in Houston.)
Tiny stars... Lisa just can't help herself, can she? This is the finished top from the Primitive Gatherings Summer 2018 Block of the Week - it's titled Star Studded. It measures 90" x 96" and because I know you want to know, the stars finish at 2". Lisa worked on this during the ReStore and Quiltstock retreats in July. She finished it a week or so later.
Do you remember Lisa's finished Block Heads 1 quilt?
It's spectacular - even better in person. The pattern for the book is included in the Moda Block Heads book - published in early December.
This is Memory of a Masterpiece, Lisa's contribution to the Red & White Quilts book. (It's also available now.) Wouldn't this be a great long-term project?
This is Jeter. As Lisa wrote, his job is modeling quilts.
Just in case you missed it - Block 38 - Anchor Point.
Remember... if the blogs aren't up or the links aren't working, check the Moda Block Heads 2 Archive. Because if you're reading this, it's already been updated and it will have what you're looking for.
