Spring Market 2019 - Part 1

Spring Market 2019 - Part 1

I guess that means I'm committed to doing a Part 2. It will be necessary as I'm only going to be able to share one side of the Designer booth today.

Moda Marketplace - Spring Quilt Market 2019, Kansas City, Missouri. (This is actually the back of the booth, looking toward the main center aisle and the front of the convention center.)

The bunting template I told you about last week was used to make all of the bunting hanging around the booth - there will be more about the template from Jen Kingwell and the bunting coming soon.

There's more coming about many of the things I'm sharing today - this is like a "speed date" with the booth. Booths. There will be lots more to share about everything, including Sweetwater's super-cool new Printworks big text panels. (They're on the far right side of the picture above.)

The tablecovers are by Pieces to Treasure - aka Jenelle Kent. They're from the in-stores-now toweling collection, Picnic Point Toweling. The chair covers are made with one of Minick & Simpson's Northport Wovens.

If you look past the upright on the right, to the far corner, that's where I'll start my tour today - with Bonnie & Camille and Early Bird.

The new collection is Early Bird and these are Camille's quilts - Hide & Seek, Flower Girl 2 and Shining Brightly.

Before I forget, please forgive the lighting. It's the convention center. Even with photo editing and adjustments... it's off.

That's the corner of Shining Brightly with Good Morning in the middle and Bonnie's Song Bird on the right. (Isn't that mini spool quilt perfect?)

These are Bonnie's new quilts - Song Bird (this one will be a Moda Kit!), Spinning Stars, Chatterbox and Abundantly Blessed 2. Early Bird will be in shops in October 2019.

Vanessa Christenson of V & Co. was there - with her family! - to debut Ombré Bloom. Take all thirty-two of her beautiful ombré fabrics and dot them with a tiny flower sun-print.

The quilt on the back is Ombré Floral Bouquet. The quilt on the left is Ombré Lattice and the one on the right is Walk In The Park. Ombré Bloom will be in shops in October 2019.

Corey Yoder and Sugarcreek - Prints and Wovens. Many of the designers with March/pre-Market collections still share their new quilts in person at Market. With so many beautiful new quilts, we were happy to see Corey. The quilts are - Beholden 2, Sprinkling, Poppyseed, Happy Scrappy Baskets and Loveliness. Look for Sugarcreek in September 2019.

Harper's Garden by Sherri & Chelsi. This was also a pre-Market release, and it was lovely to see so many new quilts made with the collection. These are Sherri's quilts - on the top are Summer Shores and Weekender. On the bottom are one of Sherri's mini quilts and Dahlia.

From left to right, Sherri's Family Farm quilt and Chelsi's quilts - Monarch and Community. The mini is in her Hearts At Home II pattern - the big quilt is just out of the picture. Look for Harper's Garden in August 2019.

Harvest Road by Lella Boutique - Vanessa Goertzen. We missed Vanessa at Market as she's been quite a bit under-the-weather. But she did send along her quilts. Clockwise from upper left - Cottage Blossoms, Harvest Road Digital Panel, Rugby, New Leaf and Sun Tea. Harvest Road will arrive in October 2019.

We also missed seeing BasicGrey's Rachel Benchley but Stiletto was definitely in the house. From the left - Foxy Roxy, Silver Lining - this will also be available as a Moda Kit, and Lust Have. (Yes, this is a variation on BasicGrey's popular Log Cabin design. Stiletto will be arriving in November 2019.

Northport Prints & Wovens by Laurie Simpson for Minick & Simpson. That's Seaside in the far left corner - the scrappy nine-patch quilt. That's Leo on the back, and a six-block, mixed piecing and appliqué sampler made with Forest Fete, Live Your Life and Our Best Friends.

Leo. Just because. While it is machine-pieced, the appliqué is done by hand. As is the hand-quilting.

Urban Farmhouse Gatherings by Lisa Bongean for Primitive Gatherings. Shades of Ivory, Silver, Gray and Charcoal in small-scale prints perfectly suited to the kind of teeny, tiny piecing Lisa loves. From left to right, the quilts are Hole in the Barn Door, Gray Stone Farm, Fade Away and Weathervane Star. These quilts and the stitched pillows will all be in a Farmhouse Gatherings book. Urban Farmhouse Gatherings will arrive in shops in October 2019.

Jen Kingwell was next to Lisa - they're buddies. While Jen didn't have a new fabric collection at Spring Market, she did have several new quilts and patterns designed by the Jen Kingwell Collective. Jen did show a new Block of the Month - Golden Days - that we'll be sharing soon.

From left to right on the top, the new quilts-patterns are Chinoiserie, Flower Pop, and Golden Days. On the table is Cherry Bomb. There are also a few new Postcard patterns - yes, more on those soon.

Wait... here's Lisa and her Urban Farmhouse Gatherings again. There are so many really good things in the book that one booth just wasn't enough space.

So that's Spring Market Part 1.

Did you see something that made your "I might need some of that" list?

I hope you have a terrific long weekend. After Quilt Market, the timing couldn't be more perfect for a few of us.

We're going to put our feet up and relax.

This is Jess - Lisa's long-time "do everything" assistant. She definitely has the right idea.

Happy Friday!
